Dear future self!
Don’t look back on the past, forget that part, and move forward. Leave some people in the past and don’t look for them again. Put your academic goals in front no matter what school you are in. Learn how to say no without excuses and cut off fake friends. Care about your family the most, more than yourself or your friends, because those people gave everything for you and are still willing to. Keep your life organized and don’t worry. We saw from many situations that everything works out in the end. I’m managing things greatly now, there’s always been enough time for everything, even though we both know I’ve got much work. Things have been complicated, but I always toss those problems away and enjoy life in the best way possible. I’m just the way I am right now… My current challenges are to maintain everything and never back down. In an academic sense, do what is best, pick cleverly, and try to achieve my current dream job- criminology and forensics. Study it, please. If things change, what profession did I pick? Who am I friends with? Have you continued ballroom dancing? How are family members? I hope nothing bad or tragic happened. Keep up, don’t be bothered, and don’t let anything get to you to hurt you. Right now, I’m looking up, achieving. Stay that way, I know you will. Learn from your past mistakes and think twice before saying anything. Don’t trust people and be yourself. I said everything, even too much.
Can’t wait to see you,
Your little friend

Dear future Lara,
I am writing this letter now that I am 13, almost 14 years old. Right now, my life is pretty calm. I don’t have any big challenges, but I don’t have any big dreams either, and honestly, I am still trying to figure out who I am and what I want to become. Maybe that’s not so bad – everything will fall into place when the time comes.
By the time I am 17, I want to become a better person, the person I can be, and the person I want to be. I hope that you managed to get into the high school you wanted, that you will successfully graduate from it, and that you will get into the university that you really like. I want you to be proud of your effort, work, and the path you have taken.
I have a lot of questions for you. How is your life now? Are you happy? Do you have normal and real people around you? Have you found what really fulfills and interests you? Are you still the person you have always been and wanted to be? I have more questions, but I won’t ask them because I want to surprise myself.
I want to tell you something else: Never stop believing in yourself, even when things get tough. You don’t have to have all the answers right now. Walk through life one step at a time, without a lot of stress and bad people around you. You will always have yourself, and that is your greatest support.
With love,
Your younger self
